Decolonising design in peacebuilding contexts

This paper explores how transdisciplinary design approaches can contribute to peacebuilding. Ways of decolonising workshops create trust and ensure sensitizing, dialogic meaningful experiences for participants, enable them envision interethnic intercultural forms being becoming, are discussed. The participants were indigenous peoples, Afrodescendants, peasants excombatants living in northern Cauca, Colombia, an area prioritized Challenges faced included: integrating written oral communication; revising deconstructing the tools; overcoming colonized notions time futures. We argue that methods interventions have potential peacebuilding but need be constantly decolonised consider what future means communities affected by conflict. • Transdisciplinary Indigenous, participated workshops. Participants envisioned becoming. Decolonizing futures is essential. Trust a critical force shaping conditions.
